The situation in Haiti is rapidly changing and the plans for WR-HC are very fluid. Here is what I can report so far.
A Mercy Medical Team (MMT) arrived in the Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo) yesterday. They traveled to the boarder of the Dominican Republic and Haiti near Jimani at the Good Samaritan Hospital. They worked through the night.
Another team, an assessment team is preparing to leave for the Dominican Republic on Thursday. Team members will be arriving in Miami today and tomorrow. The assessment team is scheduled to meet up with the MMT team at Jimani, and then meet President Kessa. Should security concerns be met, the assessment team is planning on proceeding into Haiti with President Marky Kessa to Port-au-Prince.
The people on the second team are Rev. Matthew Harrison, Rev. Glenn Merritt, Rev. Carlos Hernandez, Rev. Douglas Rutt, Rev. Steve Lee, Rev. Dr. Albert Collver, Matthew Schlanger, and Dr. John Lautenschalger. We will try to provide updates from inside the country.
However, the situation is very fluid and these plans may change. The second team may end up remaining with the first MMT team to assist.
