Amsterdam Excursion

Today on a twelve hour layover to Helsinki, Finland, for the International Luther Congress, I went into Amsterdam.

Took a 15 minute train ride to Amsterdam Central.

Saw the canals and harbor.

Another view...

The Nieuwe Kerk ("New Church") is a 15th-century church in Amsterdam, located on Dam Square, next to the Royal Palace. In 1980, the "New Church" stopped being a church. Now it is an exhibition hall and a place where organ recitals are held.

The back of the New Church is a store for Russian cultural items.

Did some shopping at the Magna Place...

Saw some items that are either illegal in the United States or are obscene, and then returned to the airport for Finland.
